    Hi Cynthia,

We haven’t tested it just yet.
The first priority would be to make it responsive.

    Thanks for reminding us!!!

Actually, if you’re logged in the cache might be bypassed.
It’s good that you also reached us via email.

Do check the email from us.

The plugin doesn’t assume anything about the theme because there are so many variations.
You may have to do the upgrading manually because in the child theme you are supposed to have customizations.
You may have to update/sync the admin/ folder within the child theme (if any)

    Hi,

We must have missed this thread.
In the past we had the functionality for copying the functions.php file. It’s hidden for now.
We turned it off because most of the themes don’t use pluggable functions e.g. functions that can be defined in the child themes. With php (the language that WordPress uses) you can’t have a function with the same name (with some exceptions related to Namespaces and static class methods) this caused the site to definitely and surely to crash.

If you’re feeling adventurous and don’t might restoring your site or at least connecting via FTP and deleting the functions.php from the child theme append this to the page that allows you to create child themes that is Appearance > Orbisius Child Theme Creator.

You probably have switched to a new host which doesn’t allow write access.
Please, check with the support. wp-content/themes/ must be writeable by the web server.

    Hi Mary,

Our child theme creator plugin in needed in the beginning and also later if you want to edit the files.
It doesn’t block your child theme in any way.

I strongly suggest that you set up a test site and import your existing site there and make the changes to you don’t override something.
When you switch to a theme its settings will load and whatever you had there should show up.

    Hi,

Yes, you will need to create a blank file named functions.php.
Before you do this, though, do make sure the parent theme does support pluggable functions i.e. it checks if the function is already defined. If it is it doesn’t try to define it… otherwise your site WILL crash (because php won’t let you have 2 functions with the same name ) !!

This post must have fallen through the cracks.
Did you check your spam folder?
Did you check with your hosting if the server is blocking outgoing emails?

    Hi,

It seems the parent theme is not child theme friendly.
It searches for /functions/ in the current directory.

    You have 2 choices
    1) Connect using FTP and download the contents of
    /cloriato-lite/functions/

    and upload it to:

    cloriato-lite-child-01/functions/

    2) contact the theme author and let them know about this issue so they can fix the theme.

    Hi,

Thanks for using our plugin :)

By the way this is not caused by our plugin. You have these options:

    1) Check which plugin was responsible for handling [blockquote…] shortcode.
    2) If it was the theme. Check with it’s author.
    3) Switch to the old host partially kidding ;)

    The files are in plugins/orbisius-child-theme-creator/assets
you may have to replace the min files with the other copies.
The minified versions are used everywhere except on our development machines.

The parent theme is probably to blame. Can you check with the theme designer if his/her theme is child theme friendly?
If the designer has used one specific function it will always pull the css from the parent theme.

Perfect. The simpler you keep things the better you’ll be able to troubleshoot issues (if any) in the future.
