phpMyAdmin team has tried to make things simple but when you have a lot of databases or tables with the same prefix they get grouped.

I had moments when I got scared that I might have dropped some of the tables by mistake.

 

To disable grouping in phpMyAdmin edit config.inc.php and add this line

$cfg['NavigationTreeEnableGrouping'] = false;
